What it says on the tin.
he's an asshole. Just look at what he created for us.

God didn't create this mess for us, Adam and Eve chose sin, and now we are all born into this sinful world with a state of sin in us. I also heard fascinating theories that the world was further corrupted after Adam and Eve's transgression in Genesis 6, when fallen angels came down and sired giants and other strange hybrid creatures with human women. Then after the flood the world was further corrupted at the Tower of Babel. God disrupted their plans, but more corruption set into the human race after that. God sending Christ is His work to reverse all of this in the world. The Second Coming will be the ultimate step in reversing evil in the world. I heard theories that the Tower of Babel was not some stupid attempt to build a really tall tower with ancient man thinking that heaven was literally just a few hundred or thousand feet up in the sky. The Tower was built in a valley, not a mountain top. Rather it was an attempt, probably in the top chamber, to open a portal into heaven. Some extra-biblical writings indicate that their aim was to open a portal into Gods throne, and take Him out, and replace Him with one of them or some other entity they would have preferred in. Foolishness, we saw the extent of their success. Some of this is spelled out in the Book of Jasher. It also says that God destroyed the bottom third with an earthquake, the top third with a strong wind, and probably left the remaining part as a testimony of the sheer foolishness of attempting to overthrow or replace God.
References to scripture is not proof. Anyone can write anything in a book.
Besides Jasher is an apocryphal book. If that is allowed, then the Gospel According to Judas should be allowed. Shall I quote from it to you?
There is an Old Testament passage that says to read the book of Jasher if you want more information on events it is talking about. I do struggle with the level of inspiration in Apocryphal books. Most contain prophecies of Christ. Some contain historical or doctrinal errors. I do tend to trust the Old Testament Aporcyhpal books to a greater degree than the New. Some New Testament Aporcyhal books are tainted by Gnosticism, a heresy so serious, that in a roundabout way Peter calls it a spirit of Antichrist. He doesn't name the sect, but he names their doctrines when says so.
People who call God an iron-age fairy tale usually do so because they THINK that if God exists, science can't be true, or if science has shown certain patterns in the universe, then God can't exist.
So you think science contradicts God? What about the notion that God created all the laws of science that the Universe runs on. Albert Einstein was not a Christian but believe that God created the universe.
What are you talking about? Who said anything about science?
What God? That's an iron age fairy-tale.
God could have created us not to choose evil, but then we would have been like robots. If mankind was to choose and love God by free will, he had to have to possibility to rebel too. For man to be in God's image, he had to have free will since God does too.
God KNEW we would choose evil, but he gave us free will anyway. That's what omniscience means. Therefore he is an asshole.
I view it this way. God is all-powerful, so he could have created us, so we would not choose evil, but he didn't, so he hates us.
God didn't make world messed up. He made it PERFECTLY good. Mankind messed up himself and the world by choosing sin, with a little input from fallen angels. God sent Christ to redeem the world and restoration of all things is ongoing person by person as they have faith in Christ and walk with God.
God is omniscient. He knew that if he gave us free will, we would sin, but he gave us free will anyway. Any being who would knowingly give humans the power to create suffering is an asshole.
I view it this way. God is all-powerful, so he could have created us, so we wouldn't choose evil, but he didn't. I cannot reach any other conclusion than he hates us.
We would God create a perfect humankind without sin, in His IMAGE, but with free will, and decide that He hates us? If anything God should hate people after sin, but He sent Christ to pay for our sins at the cross. Let me put it this way, if Christ had not come EvERYONE would spend ETERNITY in hell, EVERYONE. I presented in some of my posts a theory that some may be able to repent after death, thus making hell a temporary experience for them. Well without the death and resurrection of Christ there is no way that would even be possible. Hell would then be eternal for EVERYONE.
